Food for Brain 2015

Revitalize your nutritional health with a lively discussion of the latest scientific findings on MS and nutrition, practical advice regarding healthy eating, strategies for maintaining a healthy diet in the context of challenging MS symptoms, and the importance of exercise in promoting an overall healthy lifestyle.

Special Guest Speakers

Vijayshree Yadav, MD
Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of The Multiple Sclerosis Center, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Portland, OR

Dr. Yadav is a leading neurologist in MS with expertise in nutrition and healthy lifestyles for MS and numerous papers and book chapters to her credit. Dr. Yadav will give practical nutritional advice for people with MS based on a recent study of a special diet in MS conducted at OHSU and her clinical experience.

Jennifer Adler, MS, CN
Nutritionist and founder/owner of Passionate Nutrition, a Seattle-based nutrition practice, co-founder of the International Eating Disorders Institute, and adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University

Jennifer is a nutritionist, teacher and speaker who specializes in helping clients improve their health using food, not supplements, emphasizing abundance and enjoyment over restriction. She will discuss common questions about nutrition for people living with neurological disease and strategies for maintaining a healthy diet in the context of MS.

Theodore (Ted) R. Brown, MD, MPH
Director of Neuro-Rehabilitation at the MS Center at EvergreenHealth

Dr. Brown is a board-certified member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and works to maximize function and quality of life for individuals with MS. Dr. Brown will discuss the importance of cardiovascular wellness in MS and for the promotion of an overall healthy lifestyle.
