MS Self Help Groups Offer Connection and Support
For
many, the holidays are a time of joy, celebration and family gatherings. Along with these enjoyable aspects of the
holidays, some people may experience increased stress, loneliness, and a
variety of other challenges.
Support
groups provide an excellent opportunity to share about these challenges,
connect with others in a supportive and understanding environment, and experience
a sense of community.
EvergreenHealth
now hosts two multiple sclerosis self help groups, one during the day and one
in the evenings. The Eastside MS Self
Help Group (formerly located in Issaquah) is our new daytime group. They are a self-described “no whiners” group
which focuses on mutual support, education, and problem solving. Click here for further details about the group can be found
here.
Evergreen also
continues to host the Kirkland MS Self Help Group, which is held in the
evening. This is a long-standing, caring
and supportive group. It’s like a second
family for many. Click here for further details about
this group can be found here. Now there are even more opportunities to learn,
grow and find social support at EvergreenHealth.
Hope
your holidays are joyful and relaxing!
